Just love this game, and the sound-track is one of my favorites. I would love to see this on GOG. It was my very first gaming experience and I am pretty sure there are many people like me, who would buy the game here.

There are four accessible islands and one secret island in the game which can only be unlocked by collecting eight Jigsaw Pieces in the game:. Each of the four main Islands contain six 'normal levels', in which Croc has to collect six Gobbos and five Coloured Crystals. The Coloured Crystals open the Crystal Door at the end of each normal level which contains the sixth and final Gobbo. This is usually the hardest part of the level and often contains a challenge which Croc must complete to get the Gobbo.
Each Island also contains two Guardian Levels ; one halfway to completion of the island and the other after all six normal levels are complete. Croc does not collect any Gobbos or Coloured Crystals in these levels, but can gather regular crystals and Hearts lives and must defeat the Guardian in the last section of the level. He must defeat the Guardian to progress to the next set of levels.
Once Croc has finished three normal levels and the corresponding Guardian level, a secret level will be be revealed providing he has collected all six Gobbos in each set of three levels. These levels contain normal crystals and Hearts, but not Gobbos. Instead of swiping the Beany Bird Gong to end the level, Croc must find the Jigsaw Piece at the end to finish the level.
After both Guardians of an island are defeated, the next island unlocks and Croc must continue through the levels until reaching the eighth Guardian level, Baron Dante's Funky Inferno in which he must defeat Baron Dante on the Castle Island. If all Gobbos, Jigsaw Pieces, and secret levels are complete, Croc assembles all the pieces to create a new secret island known as the Crystal Island.
This island contains only five levels, considerably more difficult than previous levels without Gobbos or Crystal Doors, and each level's theme seems to come from each main island. To climb up a Climbable Wall , approach it and push the up directional button. Use the directional buttons to move on the wall.
While on Monkey Bars, you can use the directional buttons to move and X to let go. Items are pickups which Croc may collect to help him in the game. Verified Purchase. My son started playing this game in his Pre K class on a PC that is still running win 98! He kept asking me if I could get this game for him, so the search began and I found both Croc 1 and 2 for windows here on Amazon.
That fact that a PC was running win 98, being used by Pre K kids and was still working astounds me! It is a great game for a 5 year old. Forget windows 8, i never want to deal with that OS! Perfect game for all ages! Good clean, nonviolent fun. It will keep you entertained for hours and it works with Windows One person found this helpful. Gave to my daughter! Yes, I rated this game 5 stars. Why would I rate a game about a little green crocodile with 1 tooth, little fuzzy things called gobos, and lots of other cutesy animals, 5 stars? Because this game does what few others have done: made me unashamed to love a cute, bright, overly-happy game such as this.
The storyline is simple yet fun, the gobos are a puzzle unto themselves just to free, the "special challenges" at the end of each level providing you get all 5 gems are quite hard, the boss's are unique and require some skill, and the graphics are bright, fresh, crisp, and gorgeous.
But my favorite part is still the music, I can't help it, it's so catchy! Listen in particular to the first level's theme and the theme for the first desert level, could it fit the game more perfectly? The only draw-back, the one and only problem with this game, is controlling dear little Croc.
Once you learn to use him correctly he's easy, but sometimes when against a wall the "camera" behind him gets glitchy, and you may have trouble rotating around Croc to see better from a different angle. This can be such a problem that my friend quit the game in frustration after some time struggling with this, but honestly once you get used to it it's not too bad. I highly recommend this for younger players and for anyone else who can appreciate this game simply for how good it is regardless of how exceedingly cutesy it gets.
I first played this game when I was just a kid. Ever since that day, i've been hooked. What could possibly be cuter than a little green crocodile, that wears a backpack and squeaks. Possibly an exception for the Gobbos. Otherwise I would have to say, nothing.
There is nothing cuter than Croc.
